Why Is BISP Issuing Free SIMs? Purpose of the Digital Wallet System

BISP has introduced a new Digital Wallet Payment System for more than one million low-income women. Under this system:

  • Every eligible beneficiary receives a free mobile SIM
  • A Social Protection Wallet is created on that SIM
  • All future BISP payments (Kafaalat + Taleemi Wazaif) will be transferred digitally
  • You will be able to check balance and withdraw money using a secure PIN
  • Payments will no longer be available at campsites or retail agents in the future

Some women, even though eligible for BISP payments, will not receive a SIM until they resolve certain issues. These include:

1. Expired CNIC

  • If your CNIC is expired, you can’t get the SIM. Renew your CNIC immediately.

2. Fingerprint Verification Issues

  • If your fingerprints are not matching during biometric verification, you won’t be issued the SIM.

3. More Than Five SIMs on Your CNIC

  • If you already have five active SIMs, you must remove extra SIMs from your name through PTA before you can get the BISP SIM.

4. Did Not Complete Dynamic Survey

  • Women who failed to complete their Dynamic Survey within the required time have been declared ineligible. BISP is removing all unverified or incorrectly enrolled beneficiaries.
